“Finance-in-Society”

Junie, an ex-investment banker, is a financier and business incubator. She is also a Professor and teaches MBAs at a leading university in China for the last 3 years. Her doctorate is built upon the social and economic transformation of China, and her focus is to develop a “finance-in-society” model, of which finance is directed at providing for social needs.

For the last 22 years, Junie’s career has given her the opportunity to live and work in many different countries, including the developed and emerging worlds. This experience has enabled her to obtain deep understanding of cultural issues. She is also the founder of Catalyst Foundation, a UK non-profit making organization. While Catalyst Foundation provides the disadvantaged women with commercial orders, finance and markets, it also empowers the women through the process of “self-emancipation”. Through this process, the women will ultimately regain their long lost identities.
